Actress Alyson Hannigan was calm, cool and collected during an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman last week, but she reveals that she was anything but on the cross-country flight to New York.
The How I Met Your Mother star brought her 6-month-old daughter Satyana along on her first ever flight, and admits she was very nervous that it might not go so well.
“This was her first plane flight, so I was really nervous,” Alyson said “I went on my Twitter page and I asked for advice. I got some good advice and bad advice. The bad advice was, ‘Leave her at home,’ or ‘Put her in the overhead compartment…’ But good advice that I took was to hand out earplugs to the people around you and say, ‘Hopefully you won’t need these, but just in case here you go!'”
In the end her fellow travelers did need those earplugs – but not because of Satyana.
“The flight was great, she was awesome. She’s a good baby. But the earplugs did come in handy because there was a toddler a couple rows back that screamed the whole time.”

Monty Python star Terry Jones, 67, and his girlfriend Anna Söderström, 26, welcomed a daughter Siri in early September, Telegraph reports.
Addressing concerns that he left his wife of more than 30 years to be with Anna who is 41 years his junior, the Welsh comedian said the comments leave him unaffected:
It doesn’t worry me what anyone says, except when publicity hurts others. I’ve yet to discover how I like having another child as she’s only just born. Anna and I talked about it, obviously, before we decided.” He added, “I don’t think people who have children are acting selfishly or unselfishly. Having a child who’ll be loved, to parents who love each other, is the important thing. I’ve a reasonable chance of living another 20 years, and hope I do, so Siri will be in her 20s.”
Jones already has a 35-year-old daughter, Sally, and a 32-year-old son, Bill, from his previous marriage to Alison Telfer.
According to Lt. Tony Lee of the Beverly Hills Police: “Ms. Richie was driving with a passenger around 2 p.m. when she was struck by two photographers driving in one vehicle behind her. She complained of pain … Her car sustained moderate damage. No paramedics were called to the scene.”
“She told officers she was going to seek her own medical treatment, so it’s unknown if she’s headed to a hospital or not,” he adds.
Lt. Lee also tells the magazine that the driver who rear-ended Nicole is being arrested: “Officers could not verify his identification. He’s being physically brought into the station. This will likely be a misdemeanor traffic violation, and the photographer’s vehicle will be towed.”
Thankfully Nicole’s two children – 21-month-old Harlow & baby Sparrow, just three days shy of a month old – were not in the vehicle at the time of the collision.
Motherhood may have a profound impact on Gwyneth Paltrow’s life, but that doesn’t mean it affects her career choices.
The Proof star, who has kids Apple, 5, and Moses, 3, with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, says she doesn’t care if her films are family-friendly.
“I don’t think I will start looking for projects the kids can watch,” Gwyneth says. “I feel like I give them so much time at home and I work so little and I give everything I have to them.”
Though the time Gwyneth spends on set these days is limited – she cut back on filming since becoming a mom – she considers it an important creative outlet.
“I feel like when I work that is my time to express myself and to be creative and to really delve into somebody else’s mind, heart and psyche. That is my thing. I do it once a year – maybe only for a few weeks but it can be as R rated or not as I want it to be.”
Next up for Gwyneth is Iron Man 2, which is scheduled to hit theaters in May 2010. She’s seen here at this weekend’s Stella McCartney Pret a Porter Show in Paris.
Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane and his expectant wife, Rebecca Gayheart, were spotted shopping in Beverly Hills on Monday (October 3). Rebecca’s bump is starting to become more obvious every day.
Although the couple have yet to comment on their baby news, People magazine confirmed last week that they are indeed expecting. Not to mention, Eric’s costar Jessica Capshaw recently spilled the beans on behalf of the couple.View Slideshow »»
