While Kate Gosselin is raking in the ratings on Dancing with the Stars, her ex-husband Jon Gosselin claims to be spending all of his time with the kids. We learned yesterday that Jon plans to fight for custody of their eight children and an insider close to the family says the kids are indeed happier when they’re with Jon. “The kids have always preferred Jon over Kate,” Life & Style reports. “The kids always come in second or third in Kate’s life. The nannies have more of a bond with them than her.”
Jon claims that Kate is neglecting the kids while she continues to make money. In the meantime, he can’t afford the thousands in child support because TLC won’t let him work. “When it’s technically her time to be at home and she’s away, Kate doesn’t allow Jon over and has nannies stay with the kids,” the insider says. “Jon is just trying to do what is in the best interest for the kids and him.”
But is the children’s best interest truly Jon’s main concern? Further reports state that Jon is going broke, which is why the former reality TV star is seeking primary custody of their eight children. Reportedly, he wants to end his support payments and have Kate pay him.
Precious actress Paula Patton, 34, and R&B crooner husband Robin Thicke have welcomed their first child, reports PEOPLE. Son Julian Fuego was born Tuesday (April 6) in Los Angeles, Ca.
A rep for the couple says, “Mother, father and son are all doing well.”
Thicke, 32, announced the news that they were expecting a boy in December and in the same interview he revealed his biggest parenting fear, saying, “…my biggest fear is being able to be there, because I don’t know if kids ever think their parents were there enough.”
The couple, who met in high school at age 14, have been married since 2005.
Celebrity philanthropist Kelly Meyer created the Teaching Garden, a program for students to plant, cultivate and harvest their own fresh produce while honing science and math skills. Kelly is inspired by First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move campaign focused on teaching nutrition and fitness education to kids.
Celebrity parents such as Tobey Maguire, Cat Cora and Gabby Reece helped promote the Teaching Garden at Inglewood, California’s Kelso Elementary School. Gabby talked with Celebrity Baby Scoop about the importance of empowering students to understand how a few small changes can make a life saving difference.
The seemingly blissful Hollywood couple, Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy, have decided to call it quits. “Jim and Jenny have recently decided to end their five-year relationship,” Jim’s rep tells PEOPLE.
The surprising announcement comes just weeks after Jim’s daughter Jane gave birth to a son Jackson. Jenny said “I’m gonna rock as a grandma” in the weeks prior to Jackson’s birth.
“I’m so grateful for the years Jim and I shared together,” Jenny said in a statement. “I will continue to be in his daughter’s life and will always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart.” Jim echoed her warm sentiments on Twitter. “Jenny and I have just ended our 5yr relationship. I’m grateful 4 the many blessings we’ve shared and I wish her the very best! S’okay! ?;^>!”
Over the years, Jim has grown close to Jenny’s son, Evan, who was diagnosed with autism. “He taught me how to love,” Jim said in 2008. “And without Evan I might never have seen the greatness of Jenny’s spirit.”
Jenny has praised Jim’s involvement in Evan’s life: “[He has the] capacity to love and to take on something that most men would completely run away from.”
