Jennifer Garner & Violet Are On The Go

Jennifer Garner & Violet Are On The Go

Jennifer Garner enjoyed some one-on-one time with her oldest daughter Violet, 4, today, making their to the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown LA, California (January 23). According to the venue’s schedule, the mother-daughter duo were headed to a Los Angeles Philharmonic performance of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, part of the Toyota Symphonies for Youth series.

The Valentine’s Day star, who is also mom to 1-year-old daughter Seraphina, recently opened up about a frustrating aspect of motherhood:

I will tell you what I can’t abide – and I think the Internet has really created a space for it – women criticizing other women and mothers criticizing other mothers. It just makes me crazy, whether it’s between staying at home, going to work, how long you breast-feed, if you use formula. I feel like we should just assume everyone is doing the best they can. Women should take care of each other, not tear each other down. I would just like to see a mother who really believes that she has done it all so right, you know what I mean?”

Happy 4th Birthday To Chifundo “Mercy” James!

Happy 4th Birthday To Chifundo "Mercy" James!

Name: Chifundo “Mercy” James

Date of Birth: January 22, 2006

Parents: Madonna

Siblings: Lourdes Leon (10/96), Rocco (08/00) & David Banda (09/05)

Facts:
– Mercy was adopted from Malawi in June 2009
– Madonna was originally denied the ability to adopt Mercy, due to residency requirements stating that she would need to live in the country for 18 months before an adoption could be possible. This requiement was later waived, as it was with her son David – also adopted from Malawi in May 2008.

Quote from Parent:
“I was warned by my social worker that because there were no known laws in Malawi, they were more or less going to have to make them up as we went along. And she did say to me: “Pick Ethiopia. Go to Kenya. Don’t go to Malawi because you’re just going to get a hard time.” [Malawi is in] a state of emergency. As far as I’m concerned, the adoption laws have to be changed to suit that state of emergency.” – Madonna, on adopting from Malawi.

Allure & Sublime: Beautiful New Nursing Bras From Bravado

Known for some of the most comfortable nursing bras on the market, Bravado! Designs has launched two brand new dazzling styles for nursing moms! Both styles are extremely comfortable and look very attractive and I especially love the matching underwear which completes the set! There is no longer a need for nursing mothers to sacrifice style for comfort as these bras offer both.

The Sublime is a lace bra which is extremely airy and lightweight and offers a surprising amount of support even for those with larger breasts. It also features Bravado's proprietary double-cup sizing to accommodate changing shape. The multiple panels create a beautiful shape and full support without underwire which is wonderful for those in the early months of nursing. Available in French Vanilla, Black and Black Cherry (my personal favourite), this bra is perfect for those missing their pretty lingerie pieces!

Angelina Jolie Continues To Rally Support For SOS Children’s Villages

Angelina Jolie, who recently donated $100K to the American SOS Children’s Villages with partner Brad Pitt, continues to support the worldwide organization throughout this very difficult time after the Haiti earthquake tragedy.

In a recent statement, the mother-of-six and UN Goodwill Ambassador explained that “SOS has been in Haiti for over three decades, now raising over 300 orphaned and abandoned children and caring for 4,000 more impoverished children and families to help prevent child abandonment.”

That was before the earthquake. Now the needs for orphaned children are almost incalculable. SOS has been pulling resources together to provide temporary shelter for unaccompanied children, safe areas for mothers, and food, medicine, trauma counseling, and reunification programs for families and children. SOS was there before the earthquake, and during it — but most importantly, SOS will be there for many years to come — to raise these children, in their communities until they are self sufficient adults.
