Keri Russell: Motherhood Introduces “A Whole New Set Of Feelings”

Keri Russell: Motherhood Introduces "A Whole New Set Of Feelings"

Keri Russell, mother of 2 ½-year-old son River, is set to star in Extraordinary Measures, where she plays a mom trying to save her two children who are dying of a rare genetic disorder. Keri told NYDailyNews that she felt deeply connected to this role now that she’s a mother.

Rosie O’Donnell has this great quote. She said something like, “Before you have kids, your life is black and white, and then it’s in color.” It’s just a whole new set of feelings that aren’t as accessible to you before you have kids. So you see something sad happening to any kid, and you just instantly access, “Oh my God, what if that happened to my kid?” Everyone just sort of becomes your kid.”

The 33-year-old Felicity star went on to say that she and husband Shane Deary love to take River out in their Brooklyn neighborhood. “We go to the park, we go to the farmers’ market in Brooklyn. I love having BAM right here. BAM just had this retrospective on Sesame Street, and we saw it, like, on a full movie screen. It was River’s first movie.”

Although growing up in the city does pose its challenges. “Shane and I grew up with a lot of nature around. I grew up in Colorado, and he grew up on Martha’s Vineyard. So there are tradeoffs. You get all this city culture. We walk to go see Cate Blanchett in A Streetcar Named Desire, and we walk to go to this retrospective on Cary Grant, and it was so cool. But when [you see] the schools have asphalt playgrounds, you’re like, “Oh, right. That’s how the city kids do it.”

Vera Farmiga On Film & Family

Vera Farmiga On Film & Family

She’s “made a career out of playing girlfriends and mothers,” but New Jersey-born actress Vera Farmiga says it’s her latest role, as a confident yet complicated middle-aged woman in Up in the Air, that’s earned her the most admiration.

“I am a heroine with middle-aged women all over the country,” she tells The Times Online. “They come up to me and say: ‘Oh my God! This subject is so hush-hush! But I love seeing a woman like this, who has female desire!’”

Off of the big screen, Vera lives a very un-Hollywood life, raising goats in the Catskill Mountains with her husband Renn Hawkey and their 1-year-old son Fynn.

“I met Renn five years ago,” she says of her carpenter hubby, “and I wanted to have a baby with him from the moment I laid eyes on him!”

Her career may be taking off, but Vera says it’s her family – and her beloved goats – that take top priority.

“I still have the same criteria by which I chose roles and projects. But now they have to be even more important to take me away from my family.”

Dwayne Johnson: “I’m Grateful For Where I Am”

Dwayne Johnson: "I'm Grateful For Where I Am"

Once known as the WWE persona “The Rock,” Dwayne Johnson is now known as a big screen star. In his next film, The Tooth Fairy, the 37-year-old father of one plays a mean-spirited ice-hockey player turned Tooth Fairy. Dwayne opened up to Parade about the spirit of the Tooth Fairy and the power that adults have on children’s dreams.

On if his own daughter, 8-year-old daughter Simone, still believes in the Tooth Fairy: “I want to be careful what I say because she might just read this. Let’s put it this way. I have been in the room when the Tooth Fairy has taken a tooth from under her pillow, but then I walked out the room very quickly because I didn’t want to look at the Tooth Fairy. I got scared.”

On the power of dreams: “In the beginning, my character is a dream killer, he doesn’t believe in the possibility of dreams or the power that dreams can have. Not only that, he doesn’t understand the impact as an adult that he has on children’s lives. I’ve always realized that whether you have kids or not, as adults we’re all connected in some way to children and we have a power to influence them — just make sure that they understand their own potential and how important dreams are.”

Victoria Beckham: My Boys “Are So Different”

Victoria Beckham: My Boys "Are So Different"

During a recent appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s On-Air radio show, Victoria Beckham said she’s a frequent visitor at Disneyland – and usually goes in a hat and flats. The 35-year-old former Spice Girl said her three boys Brooklyn, 10 ½, Romeo, 7, and Cruz, 4 ½, “absolutely love it. It is such a great place.”

Ryan joked that Victoria must be listening to his radio program every day “while carpooling.” Posh was quick to clarify that she does indeed listen “every single” morning. “The kids really feel that you’re part of the family,” she added.

Vicky went on to outline the differences between her three sons.

They are so different. I mean you’ve got Brooklyn who is a real boy, he’s turning into a teenager. It takes him quite some time to do his hair in the morning before he goes to school. Then we have Romeo who loves fashion. He likes to go out in a suit with a bowler hat…he’s a real fashion lover. And Cruz just wants to break dance every opportunity he gets.”

The boys are Victoria’s children with football star husband, David Beckham.

Mariska Hargitay: “We’re Always Open” To Another Baby

Mariska Hargitay: "We're Always Open" To Another Baby

Mariska Hargitay looks sassy and confident on the cover of More magazine’s February issue. The 45-year-old Law & Order: SVU star, married to Peter Hermann, opens up about how their 3 ½-year-old son August Miklos Friedrich has helped her heal old wounds.

August is almost exactly the same age as Mariska was when her mom — legendary sex symbol Jayne Mansfield — died in an automobile accident in 1967. Mariska and her brothers were in the backseat and escaped without serious injuries. The Golden Globe-winning actress opens up about the loss of her famous mom at the tender age of three.

I love it when people say, ‘She had such a great laugh, and so do you.’ When I find similarities, it gives me so much peace. Children, when they lose their mother, have a different antenna. [They wonder] ‘When will I be safe? When will I be home?’ I lost my home too early. I’m getting it back through Peter and August. It’s about following the signs, listening to your inner voice. I’m living my life, and I know that this is what I’m supposed to be doing.”

The gorgeous Golden Globes winner goes on to say that she hasn’t given up hope of making August a big brother. “It’s in God’s hands,” she says. “But we’re always open to it.”

David Boreanaz & His Baskin Robbins Boy

David Boreanaz & His Baskin Robbins Boy

Bones star David Boreanaz, his 7 1/2-year-old son Jaden Rayne, and his father Dave Roberts were spotted heading into Baskin Robbins in Calabasas, Calif. on Tuesday (January 19). David and his wife, Playboy model Jaime Bergman, are also parents to 4-month-old daughter Bardot Vita.

In 2009, Star magazine ran a brief piece accusing Boreanaz of cheating on his wife with Rachel Uchitel, the same woman who allegedly had an affair with Tiger Woods. Although there is one picture of Boreanaz and Uchitel together, the rumor didn’t last long and has been discredited several times.
