Sweet Shoes was started by Mandi Dana-Panzer of Santa Cruz, CA, a busy stay at home mother of three. While finding stylish clothing and shoes for her daughter was never a problem, it just wasn’t as easy for her two younger boys. Anyone who has girls knows that the clothes and shoes offered are endless and adorable! However, boys just aren’t as lucky! So, she decided to design her own infant shoes and used the local surf/skate culture as her design inspiration. Her shoes are edgy and hip and her line offers enough styles to match the pickiest of little personalities. The soles are made with an extra layer of foam between two layers of leather; this provides extra shock-absorption while staying developmentally appropriate for infants growing feet.
We are giving away Sweet Shoes to 5 lucky readers! Also exclusive to our readers is a 20% discount (off a minimum $25 purchase) off the kitsel website. ADDED BONUS: The 20% discount applies to all products off kitsel website (excluding jewelry and furniture and cannot be combined with any other offers).
*HOW TO ENTER* Leave a comment here with a valid email address (will not be published). Please state your favorite product sold at Sweet Shoes and 5 winners will be chosen at random at the end of the contest. One entry per person, per day. This contest ends Friday, October 23rd at 7 P.M. EST. Entries open to US residents only. Good luck!

It’s all smiles at the White House! President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, and their daughters, Malia, 11, and Sasha, 8, sat for a family portrait in the Green Room of the White House on September 1.
Famed photographer Annie Leibovitz captured this great family shot that was officially released by the White House on Friday (October 23). Noticeably absent? Bo, the Obama family Portugese water dog!
The First Lady recently said the girls easily adjusted to life at the White House:
You know, happiness for me really is when my kids are good and when my family is whole. Moving [to the White House], whatever stresses would be on my husband and me, we could handle; we are grown-ups. But it wouldn’t be until the day that my kids came home and said to me, ‘I like it here,’ that I’d feel like I could breathe and know that we’re all going to be okay here. And that happened very early into the year. My happiness is measured against theirs – when they’re in a good place, I feel really good.”
Alysia Reiner and her husband, fellow actor David Alan Basche, just became first-time parents to daughter Livia last December. While Livia’s entrance caused a “massive shift in [their] familial universe,” the 39-year-old Sideways star said there’s nothing quite like Liv’s “very generous smiles, giggles and babbles.”
Alysia sat down with Celebrity Baby Scoop for an exclusive look into her “whirlwind life” which includes appearing on TV shows such as 30 Rock and Law & Order, promoting her newest film Speed Grieving which she created, produced and starred in, and of course making all of Liv’s food from scratch!
CBS: Your daughter Livia is turning 1 this December. How has the first year of motherhood been? How has your life changed?
AR: “Motherhood has been amazing. I truly had no idea of my capacity to love until I met Livia. Everyone says that, and I feel like a cliche, but it’s so true. Having said that, I’ll also say the first few months are rough, and if you’re a new momma going through it, the change in your life/body/marriage/identity are cosmic. Don’t underestimate hormones either! Be kind to yourself, and give yourself a break – both mentally and actually – whenever you can.
I had a wonderful post-natal doula named Patty who kept saying ‘happy Momma, happy family.’ It’s SO HARD in the beginning to take care of yourself, you just want to take care of this wonderous creature, but truly the best way to take care of her is to take care of yourself too.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were on hand yesterday (October 22) to personally kick off the construction of a new playground at a homeless shelter in downtown LA.
It’s a project that, after 13 months spent fundraising, is near and dear to the couple’s heart.
“I spend tons of time here,” Nicole tells People. “When I found out the kids play on a concrete slab or play inside all day, it hit me. Kids need to have an imagination, to be outside and to be free.”
Joel adds that they’ll be bringing their daughter Harlow, 21 months, down once the playground is finished, saying, “Absolutely. Now that she’s playground age, she can!”
The playground is just the latest of several great initiatives undertaken by the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation, which the couple founded shortly before Harlow’s birth.
“We started [the Foundation] so it could be something that our siblings, parents and our kids could all do together,” the former Simple Life star says. “It’s something we talk to [Harlow] about all the time.”
Nicole and Joel’s 1-month-old son Sparrow isn’t ready for a playground just yet, but the Good Charlotte rocker says that like his big sister he’s sure to inspire plenty of projects.
“Sparrow’s going to get an awesome club,” he jokes. “Because he’s awesome.”
The couple are already working on their next project: An online baby registry for moms in need.
Mom-of-two Gwen Stefani enjoyed an evening out on her own last night, attending the Fashion Group International’s 2009 Night Of Stars in New York (October 22).
The 40-year-old No Doubt star was minus her signature bold red lips, but looked gorgeous as always in a short black halter dress paired with black tights and heels.
Gwen has said in the past that her fascination with fashion started in childhood: “I’ve always loved beauty. I was the girl who was like, ‘Ask your mom if we can play with clothes or makeup.’ I could do that for hours.”
It seems likely the L.A.M.B. designer will pass her sense of style on to her boys Kingston, 3, and Zuma, 1. They always look so adorable!View Slideshow »»
