Brendan Fraser On His New Role: “I’d Come Home And Hug My Boys A Little Tighter”

Brendan Fraser On His New Role: "I'd Come Home And Hug My Boys A Little Tighter"

Brendan Fraser has fought off mummies and survived an adventure to the center of the earth in 3-D, action-packed blockbusters. Now, he’s taking on the real-life role of John Crowley, a man who fought to save his young children from a terminal disease in Extraordinary Measures. Fraser, who is father to three boys – Griffin, 7, Holden, 5, and Leland, 3 – opened up to Parade about becoming emotionally involved in the true story, and being inspired by the heroic Crowley family.

On realizing he is very blessed: “My three sons are very healthy. John Crowley had two kids who certainly would not have lived past the age of four or six if it were not for his efforts to save their lives. So maybe, while doing the movie, I’d come home and hug my boys a little tighter. But I always hug and kiss them whether they like it or not. I’m like, ‘Come here, you,’ and you blow raspberries on them. That’s what I do.”

On doing anything for his kids: “It makes my heart stop beating for a moment to think it were true that my children might be in any kind of jeopardy. I mean, it really frightens me. Of course, I would do whatever it takes to save them. What parent wouldn’t? I’d throw myself in front of a train if I had to for their well being. That doesn’t mean you can protect them from everything, but you have to try. Harrison came up with an enduring line which his character says in this film, ‘Don’t hope for a miracle, make one,’ and that’s exactly what my character John Crowley did.”

Elisabetta Gregoraci: Bump In Black

Elisabetta Gregoraci: Bump In Black

Formula One boss Flavio Briatore and his expectant wife, model Elisabetta Gregoraci, were spotted leaving London hot spot The Cipriani last night (January 20). Elisabetta, 29, and Flavio, 59, are expecting their first child together.

Flavio is the biological father of Heidi Klum and Seal’s 5-year-old daughter Leni. Seal recently opened up about formally adopting little Leni late last year and had this to say about Flavio:

From what I understand Flavio was a gentleman about the whole thing. I have a tremendous amount of respect for him. I’m not talking about in a professional level but just in the way that he has handled the situation, which, let’s face it, must have been really difficult. I don’t know if I would have been that adult about it. I certainly have nothing but good things to say about the way he’s been with us and he’s more than welcome to see Leni any time he wants to.”

John Edwards Finally Admits: “I Am Quinn’s Father”

John Edwards Finally Admits: "I Am Quinn's Father"

John Edwards is finally coming clean. The former Democratic presidential hopeful admits in a written statement to NBC that he is the father of a 2-year-old daughter, Quinn, with Rielle Hunter, who worked as a campaign videographer, Us reports.

In his statement provided to NBC news, Edwards acknowledges the extramarital affair and says he is taking responsibility for the child, Frances Quinn Hunter:

I am Quinn’s father. I will do everything in my power to provide her with the love and support she deserves. I have been able to spend time with her during the past year and trust that future efforts to show her the love and affection she deserves can be done privately and in peace.”

Edwards, 56, and his wife Elizabeth Edwards have been married for nearly 33 years. The couple had four children together. Their eldest child, son Wade, died in a 1996 car accident. In August 2008, Edwards admitted to having an affair with Hunter, but repeatedly denied being the father of her child. The former North Carolina senator is finally facing the truth.

It was wrong for me ever to deny she was my daughter and hopefully one day, when she understands, she will forgive me. I have been providing financial support for Quinn and have reached an agreement with her mother to continue providing support in the future. To all those I have disappointed and hurt these words will never be enough, but I am truly sorry.”

Paul Bettany: We Read To The Boys Every Night

Paul Bettany: We Read To The Boys Every Night

Paul Bettany is set to play the controversial scientist Charles Darwin in the period film Creation alongside his lovely wife, Jennifer Connelly. The 38-year-old English actor opened up to Parade about his new film, the joys of raising sons Stellan, 6, and stepson Kai, 12, and his worries about the environment.

On reading to the boys every night: “Actually, reading to both my kids has always been important. My wife, Jennifer, and I read to them every night. It’s the most delicious time of the day when your child is all sleepy and cuddly and they get to snuggle up and you read them a bedtime story. It’s the bit of parenting that makes up for when they’re screaming and shouting at you.”

On how his father read him bedtime stories: “My dad made a lot of stories up at bedtime. He would create these wild stories about this elephant. As I got older, I remember him reading Lord of the Rings. My strongest memory was the moment when you think Frodo is dead and I forced him to read about 250 more pages until you realized he was okay.”
