Episencial: Chemical-free Skin Care System For Kids & Babies

Episencial has come out with a luxurious, all natural, immune boosting skin care system for babies and kids, free from all synthetic chemicals and made from all natural ingredients (many of which are organic). Beautifully packaged in recycled and sustainable materials which are both phthalate and BPA free, they feature the fantastic and familiar artwork from The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. They are even manufactured using solar power!

After looking high and low for a diaper cream which can be used with cloth diapers, I was excited to read that Episencial's nurturing balm does not clog fabric or washing machines! This one-of-a-kind product was one of my personal favorites along with the Sweet Dreams Bubble Bath which is softly scented with calming essential oils - perfect for winding down your baby or toddler . These are the most gentle and mild products I have ever used on my children's skin. The scent is very pleasant and light (some are unscented).

Ewan McGregor & Daughter: Saturday Shoppers

Ewan McGregor & Daughter: Saturday Shoppers

Here’s a famous father we don’t see very often: Ewan McGregor!

The Trainspotting star was spotted on a coffee run with his 8-year-old daughter Jamiyan at the Brentwood Country Mart in California yesterday (November 28).

Ewan, who also has kids Clara, 13, and Esther Rose, 8, with his wife Eve talked to Health magazine about his parenting philosophy earlier this year:

Pay attention: I recognize it can be boring to play with young children – to tell a story over and over again, let’s say – but the secret is being there. If you’ve made a decision to play with your children, then play with them. Don’t be looking through papers on your desk or sneaking off to the computer. Turn off your BlackBerry. Lose yourself in their world. Even if you do it for a short time, it will mean a lot to you and to them.”

Ralph Macchio On Parenthood: “It’s The Toughest Job In The World”

Ralph Macchio On Parenthood: "It's The Toughest Job In The World"

Ralph Macchio, who plays Archie Rodriguez on Ugly Betty, talked to OK! about his favorite role: fatherhood. The 48-year-old Karate Kid star and his wife of 22 years, Phyllis, are parents to two teenagers: Julia, 17, and Daniel, 14. Ralph had some sound advice for the new moms on the show, Rebecca Romijn and Ana Ortiz.

One thing I told Ana is to be flexible. It’s the toughest job in the world. Surround your kids with as much love as possible, create the environment for communication and conversation and be flexible. Also, be flexible when they’re babies, and you have to sometimes be the strong arm with the tough love as they get older. The rule book? I’m still looking for it.”

Happy 6th Birthday Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt!

Happy 6th Birthday Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt!

    Name: Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt

Date of Birth: November 29, 2003

Parents: Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt

Siblings: Maddox (08/01), Zaharah (01/05), Shiloh (06/06) and twins Knox & Vivienne (07/08)

    Facts:
    – Pax was adopted from Vietnam in 2007
    – His birth name was Pham Quang Sang which was changed after his adoption
    – Pax Thien translates to “peaceful sky” – “Pax” is Latin for “peace” while “thien” means “sky” in Vietnamese

    Quote from Parent:
“Pax is almost three and a half and has never made a real decision for himself because everybody does everything in a group in the orphanage. There were all these things he’d never had. The first time I gave him a bath, he was suddenly laughing, out of his mind. He took five baths in one day. We’d be talking and he’d take his clothes off and run into the bathroom. The first two days, he cried a lot. I hired a translator, and he would explain what was going on. The first night, I slept alone with him. I was expecting him to wake up and scream, but he woke and just stared at me. I handed him a stuffed animal, and we walked around the room pointing at things. By day three, he didn’t want me to put him down. I think he got used to the reality that somebody loves you and that’s what a mommy is.” – Angelina, in 2007, on the adoption of her son.
