Talk about a full-circle moment! Nicole Richie, her partner Joel Madden and their 2-year-old daughter Harlow participated in the remake of We Are the World on Monday (February 1) in the same Hollywood studio where the original song was cut 25 years ago.
I was 4 years old in a studio watching my dad record We Are The World, & today I get to do it again. Excited to help make a change,” Nicole tweeted.
We Are the World was originally penned for USA for Africa (which raised $63 million) by the late Michael Jackson, Nicole’s father Lionel Ritchie and Quincy Jones. Lionel and Jones are producing this second effort.
Nicole went on to tweet, “WOW. Brian Wilson stood next to me & I got to hear him sing right into my left ear. Can you say AWESOME!” She even joked, “I hope Jennifer Hudson wasn’t upset that I was out singing her tonight.”
But it sounds like Nicole and Joel’s daughter Harlow stole the show:
Watched harlow flirt with Kanye, Cary Hart, Busta ryhmes, Sean garret, and the jonas brothers. Just like her mom, she plays hard to get,” Madden wrote on his Twitter page after the memorable event.
On the big screen, Oscar-winner Julianne Moore has portrayed characters ranging from a drug-addicted porn star in Boogie Nights to a 1950s housewife trapped in seemingly idyllic life in Far From Heaven. Off screen, the 49-year-old mom-of-two insists her own day-to-day is “very, very normal.”
“What I am interested in is people behaving outside what people consider normal behaviour,” Julianne tells The Sydney Morning Herald of the unusual roles she chooses. “As [Gustave] Flaubert says: ‘Be regular and orderly in your life, so that you may be violent and original in your work.’ For me, that’s kind of how it is. I have a very, very normal life, I really do.”
That normal life is spent in the company of her husband Bart Freundlich and their two kids Caleb, 12, and Liv, 7. Describing the typical routine in her family-of-four, she muses, “My daughter has her ballet class, my son has his basketball, my husband is writing and playing golf and I act and like to decorate the house.”
Julianne is seen here at last month’s 15th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles, California.

After hearing she stayed so thin during her pregnancy she didn’t ever wear maternity clothes, supermodel Gisele Bündchen is now coming forward and saying that her natural child birth “didn’t hurt in the slightest,” Brazilian TV channel Fantasticoshe reports.
Gisele gave birth in her bathtub at her Boston home with no pain relief and her mother, husband Tom Brady and a midwife by her side, The Daily Mail reports.
My delivery was in a bath tub, in water,” the 29-year-old beauty said. “I wanted to have a home birth. I wanted to be very aware and present during the birth… I didn’t want to be drugged up. So I did a lot of preparation, I did yoga and meditation, so I managed to have a very tranquil birth at home. It didn’t hurt in the slightest. The whole time my mind was focused in each contraction on the thought ‘my baby is closer to coming out.'”
The Brazilian beauty went on to say, “It wasn’t like ‘this is so painful.’ So I transformed that intense feeling into a hope of seeing him.”
She said that baby Benjamin didn’t cry after being born and rested in her lap for a long time. “It’s wonderful,” she said. “Never in my life I thought I could love like this. You hear people talking about it, but you don’t know until it happens to you. I couldn’t be happier.”
Benjamin is Gisele’s first child. Brady also has a 2-year-old son, Jack, with actress Bridget Moynahan.
