When Hugh Laurie started filming House four years ago, he left his family behind him in England because his kids were well-established there and he wasn’t certain the show was going to do well enough to justify uprooting them.
However, the actor has finally decided to move his family – which consists of his wife of 19 years, Jo, sons Charlie, 19, and Bill, 17, and daughter Rebecca, 14 – stateside so they no longer have to endure a nine-month separation while he films. This year was especially tough as Hugh did not get his usual 2-month break thanks to the writer’s strike. Charlie has also decided to attend Columbia University in New York.
Hugh has bought a $3.5 mil house in Hollywood, and has also signed on for at least four more years as House, meaning the series will run until at least 2012. Included in the contract is a steep pay raise – he was previously making $250,000 to $300,000 dollars, and is now set to get about $400,000 per episode. The new season premieres September 16th on Fox.

The Biggest Loser alumni, Matt and Suzy Hoover, welcomed their second son, Jax Paul, on Thursday, the 11th of September. Baby Jax was born in Seattle, weighing in at 7.6 lbs., and measuring 18.75 inches long. He joins 14-month-old big brother, Rex Timothy. Matt says everyone is thrilled about the new arrival,
“We’re so excited to add a new member to our family! We’re adding another healthy Hoover to our family and look forward to raising both boys in a healthy way with information we learned on the show.” Matt went on to comment on Jax’s name, “Our first son is named Rex, and that was unique and we wanted something that sounded similar that was also unique.”
Matt and Suzy, both 32, first met in 2005 as competitors on the second season of The Biggest Loser, which Matt, a former wrestling coach, ended up winning. He then proposed to second runner up Suzy, a hairstylist, on the Today Show in March of 2006. The couple wed in 2006 in Jamaica.
The fit couple have started a new company, BestLifeDesign.com, to help people reach their health, fitness, financial, romantic and spiritual goals. Also, Matt co-wrote the diet and fitness manual Matt Hoover’s Guide to Life, Love and Losing Weight with exercise physiologist Dr. Sheri Colberg, which will be available in bookstores on Sept. 23.
Congrats to the Hoover family!

Former pop star and Doctor Who actress Billy Piper tells Radio 1’s Jo Whiley that she’s been “dancing around in the buff” to Janet Jackson while she’s pregnant.
‘I’m re-visiting early Janet Jackson,’ she says. ‘And I attempt the dance routines naked, just to make myself laugh.’
That doesn’t mean her pregnancy has been easy, and it seems her husband, Lawrence Fox, is the one who most often suffers her frustration,
‘Lawrence is being really good, I’m being foul,’ she says. ‘He seems to be quite breezy about the whole thing which is nice because otherwise that would send me in to some kind of hysteria.’
Being pregnant also made filming intimate scenes for The Secret Diary Of A Call Girl a bit difficult too,
‘The smell of people repulses you,’ she says. ‘It must have been hard for the actors. I was sat in a corner grinding my teeth looking really vile I imagine — eating and just sweating.’
Billie has been very honest about her pregnancy has made her feel, saying that she “was eating like a horse” and felt like a sweating sea cow.” The baby, the first child for the couple, is due this October.

No one can talk about Pam Anderson and her ex, Tommy Lee, without remembering the infamous sex tape that leaked out ten years ago. And when Pam’s two sons, Brandon, 12, and Dylan, 10, wanted to watch the movie Borat, in which the tape becomes a pivotal part of the plot, she felt it was best to explain it to them herself rather than have them see it in a movie first. Pam says,
“I explained to them… ‘Mom and daddy run about naked all the time and we taped some things… and someone stole the tape.’ They really wanted to see Borat and I finally had a breakdown and let them because all their friends had (seen it) and I said: ‘There are a few things we have to talk about before you see Borat.’ So I did sit down with them and watch Borat. I kind of went ‘La la la’ over the parts I didn’t want them to hear… I tried to muddle through that.”
