Dakota Tao Brooks-Woodside was born Tuesday, September 1st, weighing in at 9lbs 2oz and measuring 23 inches in length.
“Everyone is insanely in love with her,” says Golden, 38. “We’re so happy. My mom and dad have moved in to be around her that much more! We’re already calling her our little jumping bean because she’s so active!”
The former Girlfriends star recently finished working on the indie film Polish Bar while D.B., best known for his role on 24, is currently appearing on HawthoRNe.
Golden and D.B. began dating in 2008 and announced the pregnancy in June.
Congratulations to the Brooks-Woodside family!
Mary Cheney, the former vice president’s daughter, and her long-time partner, Heather Poe, are expecting their second child in mid- to late November, a source close to the family confirms.
Cheney, a lesbian, attracted much attention from the conservative movement when she announced her first pregnancy in late 2006. Social conservative and founder of Focus on the Family, James Dobson, penned a controversial op-ed for Time magazine called “Two Mommies Is One Too Many,” regarding Cheney’s decision to start a family:
With all due respect to Cheney and her partner, Heather Poe, the majority of more than 30 years of social-science evidence indicates that children do best on every measure of well-being when raised by their married mother and father. That is not to say Cheney and Poe will not love their child. But love alone is not enough to guarantee healthy growth and development. The two most loving women in the world cannot provide a daddy for a little boy–any more than the two most loving men can be complete role models for a little girl.”
Cheney has remained a conservative voice and supporter of her father’s campaigns, although did not publicly address the Bush Administration’s Federal Marriage Amendment to the chagrin of gay rights groups.
Mary and Heather are already parents to 2-year-old son, Samuel David Cheney.
Congratulations to the Cheney-Poe family!
My 3-year-old daughter has a gorgeous head full of ringlets which are her crowning glory however they tend to be difficult to manage most of the time. I’ve tried various shampoos and conditioners which have either weighed her hair down due to their “ultra-moisturizing” capabilities or have just been too drying.
Just recently I came across the Curls company which specializes in natural curl care for women, children and babies. Curl’s “Curly Q’s” hair products have done a wonderful job of keeping her hair soft, light and manageable and the gentle, rich and moisturizing formulas didn’t weigh her hair down.
Curly Q’s is a great line of products for children with naturally curly, kinky, wavy, and/or natural-afro hair which are all formulated with natural humectants, organic moisturizers and curl enhancers. The Curlie Cutie Cleansing Cream and Coconut Dream Conditioner have a delicious coconut scent which doesn’t smell artificial like most coconut fragrances, while the Moist Curls Moisturizer/Detangler was great for “frizzy” days and worked on both dry and wet hair.

Should we read into this? Heidi Klum and Seal‘s three children – Leni, 5, Henry, 4, and Johan, 2 1/2 (pictured above) – were spotted at Taekwondo class in LA on Tuesday (October 6). Heidi – who is most always seen taking the kids to class – was not with the group. Could she be tending to a newborn?
Just last week, the 36-year-old Project Runway host said, “Maybe today is the day. I’d be happy with that, you know, because at the end you’re like…’Come on, already!’”
The A-listers fourth child – a girl! – is due any day now.

Katie Holmes graces the cover of Elle‘s “Women in Hollywood” November issue. The Mad Money star shares the spotlight with several other of the magazine’s favorite leading ladies, including Julianne Moore, Emily Blunt, Renee Zellweger and Zoe Saldana.
One of Hollywood’s most famous moms, Katie opens up to Elle about life on the set and at home with her husband Tom Cruise and their 3-year-old daughter Suri.
On family life: “In my own life, my whole world really revolves around family. I do what I need to do, but it’s like, ‘How is everybody else doing?’ And it’s wonderful for me as an actress to put some of that into a character.”
On having Suri on set during her Broadway run: “Suri would sit in my lap in the makeup chair. She’d hand the wig lady the bobby pins.“
On fashion: “I love Alaïa, for sure. Stella McCartney. I like Ralph Lauren because I feel like it’s very American, and I’m pretty all-American, from Ohio. Isabel Marant and a new designer, Sari Gueron.
On her favorite films: “It can be any genre. I even like vampire movies – they just have to be well done. I want to believe in the characters. The minute it starts to feel not real, I’m not interested.”
