Guitarist of Good Charlotte, Billy Martin, has a busy time ahead, a new remix Good Charlotte album, the release of a children’s book he has written, Damious McDreary: a Boy and his Bad, and in January, the birth of his first child with wife Linzi.
Martin told People how time stood still as he learned of the news,
“We bought a pregnancy test without even stressing or sweating. She went to take it, I sat down at my desk, and two minutes later she came out and said, ‘I’m pregnant! All the sound in the world stopped for a minute. I was shocked – but excited.”
The couple has decided upon an Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland themed nursery for the new addition, and once they have learned if the baby is a boy or girl, they will add some special touches accordingly,
“If it’s a girl, maybe more Alice-based, and if it’s a boy, more Mad Hatter and Cheshire Cat. We’re not going to do anything dark and spooky that’s going to scare the baby. We want a lighter, happier version.”

Martin is getting plenty of advice from his Good Charlotte bandmate, Joel Madden, dad to eight month old Harlow, (with mom Nicole Richie.)
“Joel says it’s going to change my whole world, but fatherhood is the best thing that ever happened to him. He tells me not to stress out, and to try to take everything in stride and enjoy it because it’s the coolest thing that can happen to you.”
Billy and wife Linzy have been married since March, and had previously dated for eight years.

Desperate Housewives star Kyle MacLachlan and his wife, Project Runway executive producer Desiree Gruber, welcomed their son Callum Lyon on July 25 – and his parents think he might have known what he wanted to be just seconds after his birth!
“He grabbed one of the clamps the doctor was using for the umbilical cord,” Kyle says. “He had it in his little hand for a second. We think maybe he wants to be a doctor.”
The new dad has got the hang of parenting; he “dances around while holding the baby to help him burp” and boasts,
“I’m a good swaddler. The secret is to use him like a rolling pin.”
Describing his new baby, Kyle says,
“He’s very calm – he’s not an obsessive crier. He has a thoughtful, Zen-like presence.”
Callum is the couple’s first child, and he’s definitely a miracle baby – Desiree suffered miscarriages, and was eventually diagnosed with thrombophilia, a condition that increases the risk of blood clots. To conceive, she had to give herself injections of blood thinner every day.
But both his parents agree – he was well worth the wait.
“There are times when we’re standing over his crib, waiting for him to wake up,” Desiree says. “It’s almost like a new channel opens up,” Kyle adds. “You’re looking at him going, ‘Wow, this is something we created. This is life.’ It’s so perfect.
