As the only male in a family of five, country star Tim McGraw is definitely outnumbered; but it sounds as though he wouldn’t have it any other way. Tim, who has kids Gracie, 12, Maggie, 11, and Audrey, 7, with his wife Faith Hill, recently admitted that it can be tough being a dad to daughters, saying, “I do try to be tough, not mean, just firm. You have to be; it’s just scary with girls. There’s so much that could go wrong. But they’re really good kids.” The protective papa recently talked to Readers Digest about his life outside of the spotlight, at home with his four favorite girls.
On what he can’t live without: “My family, Italian food … and exercise.”
On wishing he had more patience: “I have a hard time waiting, which is horrible because I live with four women. I had to learn not to get dressed until they say they’re ready to walk out the door, because I’ll still have 30 minutes.”
On when his daughters will be ready to date: “[When] I’m dead.”
Kendra Wilkinson and Kourtney Kardashian are getting ready to welcome their baby boys next month! Both moms-to-be opened up to In Touch about their fears and excitement in these last few weeks of pregnancy.
“It’s like an alien in your belly,” former Girls Next Door star Kendra said. “I mean, that’s a weird way to describe it, but it’s hard to explain. It’s also just really amazing.” Kourtney revealed that she is tired. “I’m really exhausted,” and added that she’s feeling a bit unprepared, “I don’t think I have ever changed a diaper!”
Kendra, a Playboy model, admits that pregnancy has changed her focus. “It’s definitely opened up my eyes to a whole new world. I’m so emotional.” Kendra admitted she has some fears about labor. “I have heard a lot of horror stories — I know it’s going to be painful. But every woman goes through it. It’s natural for us. We’ve been doing it since the caveman days.”
The 64-year-old singer, who has seven children with five different women – the oldest being born in 1964 and the most recent in November 2005 – is hoping to add one more with his third wife, Penny Lancaster.
“Yes, we’re trying – we actually tried last night!” Rod told GMTV, a British talk show. “One more and then we’re going to close the office.”
Until then, he’s enjoying spending time with his youngest son, Alastair, who will turn four November 27.
“He’s just a sweet kid at the moment,” says the proud dad. “I did take him out n the football field the other day. He put all his Celtic stuff on, I said, ‘Come on, let’s get running out there,’ and he went, ‘Oh, there’s some flowers for mummy – must collect them.’”
“He spent about two hours collecting flowers in a basket for his mum!” added Rod. What a sweetheart!
There are plenty of celebrity kids who hope to follow in their parents’ famous footsteps: Ella Bleu Travolta, Willow and Jayden Smith, Miley Cyrus. But Fantastic Four star Jessica Alba is crossing her fingers that her 1-year-old daughter Honor Marie won’t be one of them.
“I definitely don’t want her to do that,” Jessica said last night when asked if Honor might one day go into show business. “Anything but that!”
Though the 28-year-old mom was looking gorgeous at yesterday’s book launch party for Mark Liddell’s Exposed: 10 Years In Hollywood, she insists, “I never feel sexy. I never do, and that’s the truth.”
Jessica, who is married to producer Cash Warren, says that even when she’s all glammed up for a photo shoot, the last thing that’s on her mind is her supposed sex appeal: “I’m always wondering when my next break is. I want to call home and talk to my hubby or talk to my friends or check on my daughter. I’m never thinking I’m sexy.”
She continues to wow! An expectant Jenna Elfman looked stunning in a gray mini dress at the TV Guide Magazine’s Hot List event in Los Angeles on Tuesday (November 10).
The 38-year-old Accidentally on Purpose star recently told People she feels sexy during her pregnancy.
I found I’m showing the things that are still intact. That helps with my beauty morale. The legs and the arms – those are hanging in there, I’ll show those. That makes me feel like I’m still sexy despite my whole center of gravity being completely altered.”
Jenna and husband Bodhi Elfman, who are already parents to 2-year-old son Story Elias, are expecting another son next year.
Update: News broke yesterday that Céline Dion was no longer pregnant with her second child. Reports today state that the 41-year-old French-Canadian singer was never pregnant and was misdiagnosed.
Céline’s husband René Angélil confirmed to Canadian newspaper Journal de Montreal that the latest in vitro fertilization treatment she underwent in October was unsuccessful.
We’re living the reality of the majority of couples who face these procreation techniques,” Angélil told the paper. “Dr. Zev Rosenwaks believed that the procedure/pregnancy took, but that wasn’t the case. We found out some days later. We were shocked.”
They quickly tried again to get pregnant, but were unsuccessful, he added, “But you know Céline. She doesn’t let go.” The couple have an “extraordinary” son, René-Charles, 8 ½, who was conceived with the help of Rosenwaks.
“I admire all the women who go through such a tough process. Since April, she has undergone numerous examinations, multiple hormone injections and blood tests,” Angélil said, adding that the couple will go to New York this weekend for a third try. “Céline and I didn’t get discouraged … we put our faith in life and in the stars.”
