Eva’s Terrifying Moment

CSI: Miami’s Eva LaRue almost didn’t get the part. Eva missed her first audition for her role as Natalia Boa Vista because she was saving her daughter Kaya from drowning. Now 6 1/2, Kaya McKenna was playing with Lola Consuelos, daughter of Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos at their home in the Hamptons. Eva reports that the girls were playing in the little pond part, not quite the ocean. Eva recalls the details of this terrifying incident:

“Kaya had stepped off an underwater ledge and was literally drowning like 50 yards away from us. Lola was standing on the ledge, and standing knee deep in the water. We couldn’t figure out, we were like, maybe Kaya’s swimming. We stood there and watched her, for the longest time, not realizing that she’s drowning. Then we both realized at the same time, Kelly and I are running stripping through the water. Kelly got to her before I did and pulled her out of the water, so I didn’t end up going to the audition. I was like, forget it, I’m not going, I’m too traumatized, like oh my god, my kid almost died while I sat there and watched her. So I didn’t go.”

We’re so glad to hear Kaya is doing well. We hope to never experience anything like this!

Anna’s Good With One…For Now

Anna Friel, the 31 year-old actress of Pushing Daisies has recently stated she will not be having any more children until the series has finished. Anna and her partner David Thewlis are raising their 3 year-old daughter Gracie. Anna states:

“I definitely want more kids. I’d like another two probably, but not yet. I can’t right now – I’m not sure how they would explain my character on ‘Pushing Daisies’ getting pregnant when her leading man can’t actually touch her. What am I – the Virgin Mary?”

Anna plays Charlotte Charles on Pushing Daisies – a character who is brought back to life by her childhood sweetheart, but faces death again if he touches her.

When questioned about the pressure to stay thin in Hollywood, Anna said that she has never worried about coping with pregnancy pounds and finds the obsession with size unhealthy. She adds:

“I don’t think being self-obsessed is a very endearing quality to have. Just being self-aware and healthy is enough, I think.”

Jennie’s Frank Admissions

Jennie Garth, mother to three girls Luca, Lola and Fiona, recently admits to feeling inadequate as a mother from time to time. Something most mom’s can relate to, Jennie says she suffers from brief moments of inadequacy which make her feel she could be doing more as a mom. She wrote:

“Like on St. Patrick’s Day, there was this mom who had made a lunch bag for her kid with all green foods—a green bagel, green Jell-O—and on the outside of the bag she wrote all nice and cute, “You are my lucky four-leaf clover!” I thought to myself, “Oh man, I didn’t do that for my kids. Maybe I could have. Maybe I should have!”

Unlike many celebrity’s to admit to such a human and normal feeling, Jennie goes on to write:

“While I can’t say that I won’t feel those kinds of insecurities again—say, when I spot an adorable Valentine’s Day heart-shaped lunch bag complete with red bagel and red Jell-O—I can say that I’m doing the best that I can as a mom, and I think that my kids know that. I couldn’t make a green or red or purple lunch if I tried, but I express my love for them in other ways that make them feel safe and loved and special.”

There have been rumors that Jennie will return to the Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off series. Neither Jennie nor her camp have confirmed these rumors.
