“We have to keep the name a secret,” said Mariah today (October 6) on SIRIUS XM’s Morning Mash Up. “Because if we told everybody, then somebody might use it and then we have to change it, and then it wouldn’t be as good.”
“We picked these names out a long time ago,” she added.
Mariah’s husband of one year also shared their secret to a happy marriage: “Lots of sex!”
While the Precious star did a agree that “of course” sex was important, she went on to say: “I’m shy. I don’t say things like that. That’s where he comes in.”
Dr. Phil McGraw made a big announcement on his show today (October 6), People reports. The TV doc brought his family onstage to announce that his 30-year-old son Jay and his wife, Erica McGraw, 31, have a baby on the way! This will make Dr. Phil and his wife Robin first-time grandparents.
Dr. Phil says he got the exciting news during a recent trip to Europe.
We were actually vacationing with the whole family and were in Elba, Italy. Jay and Erica had discreetly gotten several home pregnancy tests the day before in France, and they sat us all down in Elba and said they had some exciting news! ‘We are pregnant!'” The good doc went on to say, “The day before Robin had said to me, ‘I just get the feeling that Erica is pregnant.’ I swear she is some kind of mind-reader, but I guess women know these things.”
The 59-year-old Grandpa-to-be couldn’t be happier about the news: “I was stunned and thrilled. I did not see it coming at all.” Phil’s gorgeous wife Robin said she can’t wait to be a grandmother. “This is my dream come true! I have lived to be a grandmother, and now I am. Phillip will be putty in this child’s little hands!”
The good doc gives Jay and Erica the parenting stamp-of-approval: “I think Jay and Erica were totally ready and will make the best parents a child could ever want. I plan to be the typical doting grandfather that gets to do all the fun stuff and none of the tough stuff.”
Phil, Robin, Jay and Erica were photographed above at the Daytime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles a few weeks ago. Erica, formerly known as Erica Dahm, is an identical triplet who posed in the December 1998 issue of Playboy magazine with her sisters.
Congratulations to the McGraw family!
Mom-to-be Padma Lakshmi says she’s broken out the body butter to help ease the discomfort caused by her growing baby bump.
“One thing that happens when you’re pregnant is that as your stomach starts to stretch [and] it itches! So I have to keep my belly really lubricated,” the 39-year-old Top Chef host reveals. “Every morning, there’s a buttering ceremony after I get out of the shower. It’s really like basting a turkey with body butter.”
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith must be so proud!
The A-lister’s kids – son Jaden, 11, and daughter Willow, 8 – are serving as youth ambassadors of Hasbro’s Project Zambi, Us reports.
The Smith siblings, both actors, are supporting Project Zambi to help raise awareness for the 15 million children who have lost parents and relatives to the AIDS epidemic in Africa. Jaden, who is currently filming Kung Fu Kid in China talked about his reasons for joining this great cause:
Willow and I joined Project Zambi to represent all the kids out there who want to make the world a better place,” Jaden said. “We want to encourage kids everywhere to lend a hand and join us in spreading the word about how much children who have been orphaned by AIDS in Africa need our help.”
Jaden and Willow have joined other celebrities in autographing custom-designed, one-of-a-kind collectible elephant models that are available in a celebrity charity auction. All funds will be donated to a charity that supports children orphaned by AIDS in Africa.
Willow described their charity of choice, The Chikumbuso Women and Orphan’s Project in Zambia.
“Project Zambi is about kids and for kids, and it’s so important that we all learn to take care of each other,” Willow stated. “Even from the other side of the world, kids in Africa will know they have friends who care about them.”

I am a mother who shoves information down her throat, poor thing,” the 28-year-old Fantastic Four actress said. “I sing her songs about colors in Spanish and English when I’m cooking. Literally I integrate learning into everything I do.”
