Like all expectant mothers, Kourtney Kardashian, 30, whose first child with boyfriend Scott Disick is due this month, has a lot to learn about becoming a parent.
During her appearance on Thursday’s The Rachael Ray Show, her sister Kim Kardashian, 29, admitted that she was actually quite surprised that Kourtney was becoming a mother at all:
Kourtney was never ever the type that I ever would think would ever want to have kids. She owns a kid’s clothing store, and if a kid would come in she would be like, ‘Where’s your mom? You need to go find your mom and come in with her.’ She didn’t understand it and she wasn’t that nurturing.
She went on to say that during pregnancy, her sister has “just completely changed.”
Khloe Kardashian, 25, who appeared on the show with Kim, added that Kourtney assumed she would be breastfeeding for five years: “Kourtney was like ‘I’m so excited, I don’t have to cook for five years! And I go ‘what do you mean?’ She’s like, ‘I’m gonna breast feed.’ I go, ‘For five years?’ She has, like, no idea!”
Dad to be, Scott, 26, recently told Us that Kourtney “will be a good mother” but also “strict.”
“She knows how to take care of someone,” he adds.
Kourtney and Scott’s baby boy is due December 23.
So cute! Cate Blanchett was seen playing with her three boys – Dashiell, 7 1/2, Roman, 5 1/2, and Iggy, 1 1/2 – at Madison Square Park in New York City on Tuesday (December 8).
Cate recently said that she loves raising a house full of boys:
Having boys is great. It’s a neat position to be in and I love the high energy that comes along in raising boys. It’s fun.”
Cate and her family are currently stationed in New York City as the 40-year-old Academy Award-winning actress performs at BAM (the Brooklyn Academy of Music) as Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire.View Slideshow »»
The former Sabrina star and her family recently made the move to the east coast from LA and the busy mom told People magazine, “We’re still living out of boxes, but the boys are lovin’ it. They’ve made friends, they’re running around wild and having fun. Daddy’s [Melissa’s husband Mark Wilkerson] a little frazzled, but everything else is good.”
Melissa will soon be back on the small screen opposite Joey Lawrence in a new sitcom on ABC Family.
Kate Gosselin – who was chosen as one of Barbara Walters‘ 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009 – says her eight children aren’t doing so well now that they’re no longer in front of the cameras, US reports.
They cried in the van on the way home from school the other day. I finally admitted to them, they kept asking, ‘Where’s the camera crew? Where’s the camera crew? We miss them.'” Kate tells Barbara. “And I said, ‘Our show is over.’ …Eight sobbing kids driving home from school.”
In September, TLC announced that as of November 2, Jon Gosselin would no longer appear on Jon & Kate Plus 8 and that the program would be re-titled Kate Plus 8. But the plan took a turn after Jon objected to his kids appearing on TV, claiming that he had an “epiphany” that the show was exploiting his children.
Kate disagrees, explaining to Walters that Jon ended the show “because he could.”
Elton John‘s partner David Furnish says the musician was devastated after not being permitted to adopt a Ukrainian child. However, the Crocodile Rock singer plans to support the boy anyway.
The 62-year-old British pop star met 14-month-old Lev at an orphanage for children who are HIV-positive in September. But his adoption request was rejected due to his age and marital status. Although John and Furnish tied the knot in 2005 in a civil union in England, Ukrainian authorities do not recognize gay unions as marriage.
Furnish revealed on Tuesday that the couple was “massively gutted” by the rejection and added that they are working to ensure that Lev and his brother “have the best health care, education and family options available to them.”
Furnish added that the couple plan to campaign for a change in Ukrainian law.
