According to Oksana Grigorieva‘s mother Lyudmilla Chernukha, her daughter’s pregnancy was “difficult” amidst the negative media she and her boyfriend Mel Gibson received.
I’m very pleased for her because during her pregnancy she worried a lot because of all the bad press written about her. Lots and lots of lies,” Chernukha says. “Her pregnancy was a hard one even though she had no [medical] problems with it. And, of course, Mel supported her and so did all her friends. She doesn’t make any statements or get involved with refuting what’s said about her. She just tries to keep herself closed off from all the journalists.”
Grigorieva’s pregnancy was announced six weeks after Gibson’s wife of 30 years, Robyn Moore, then 53, filed for divorce. Gibson, 53, and Moore have seven children together. Grigorieva, 39, has a son, Alexander, 12, with James Bond actor Timothy Dalton.
After her appearance on Good Morning America earlier this week, Jesse James sent a message to his ex: Leave my wife Sandra Bullock out of the custody dispute.
Jesse’s second wife and mom of their 5 1/2-year-old daughter Sunny, porn star Janine Lindemulder, stated on GMA that Bullock was trying to “take away my daughter” and suggested that the Miss Congeniality star should sit down and talk it out.
In a statement to People, James’ attorney Marilyn Slifman calls Lindemulder’s remarks “inaccurate and unfortunate,” adding that “Sandra Bullock is not a party to this litigation. Mr. James’s sole concern is for the safety, welfare and best interests of his daughter. The proper forum to resolve this case is in the courtroom.”
Bullock and James have been raising Sunny since January, when Lindemulder, who has appeared in more than 100 adult movies, was imprisoned for tax evasion. The couple wrote letters to the court with concerns about Sunny’s safety and well being due to Lindemulder’s alleged drug problem.
It looks like Ana Ortiz and husband Noah Lebenzon, who welcomed baby Paloma just 4 ½ months ago, are already thinking about expanding their family!
“I don’t know when, but probably sooner than later,” Anna told PEOPLE earlier this week. “You know the clock is ticking.”
The 38-year-old Ugly Betty star, who recently made the move from Los Angeles to New York to follow her show, says she loves being back home:
Being in New York, where I was born and raised, and sort of raising another New York kid has been a really cool experience for me. I was in LA for so long. Also rediscovering a new relationship with my mom has been a pretty amazing relationship.
The new mom says that Paloma’s grandmother is her “go-to”: “She comes to set with me and she takes care of [Paloma] while I’m filming.”
“She is just sort of my right hand with the baby,” adds Anna.
Robin Thicke and wife Paula Patton are rejoicing in their pregnancy news, and addressing their publicized false alarm:
It was a baby doll dress, and it was after the holidays. I probably gained a good 10-15 pounds, I don’t know, and suddenly after one picture, I was pregnant,” Paula, 33, tells OK! “What are you going to do? It’s life. I wish it happened. That would’ve been better.”
Their official pregnancy announcement came from Robin’s mother, Gloria Loring, on her Facebook page: “I am going to be Nana Gloria again as my son Robin Thicke & his wife Paula are expecting their first baby!”
A newly single Robin Wright Penn covers the November issue of Redbook magazine. In the issue, the Forrest Gump star, who split from Sean Penn in August after 20 years together, talks about starting over, and reveals why she doesn’t regret putting her kids Dylan and Hopper, now 18 and 16, ahead of her career.
On her kids being the constant in her life: “I don’t think there’s doubt in any mother’s mind that that’s what’s driving. Our children are the one stationary thing. There’s a clear voice inside that says that’s a priority.”
On making the decision to put her kids before her career: “I really wanted to be a mom. I didn’t want my kids to be raised by a nanny, which would have been the case if I were working two movies in a year, you know? And I would have been hospitalized with fatigue. So that’s where the no-brainer came in. I did what I wanted to do: I raised my kids.”

Katie Holmes was photographed bottle-feeding her 3 1/2-year-old daughter Suri on the New York set of her new movie, The Romantics on Wednesday (November 4).
Should a 3 1/2-year-old be hitting the bottle? According to Us, an expert says no.
She should have been weaned off the bottle by the time she was one year old,” Dr. Jennifer Shu, a pediatrician and co-author of Food Fights, tells Us. “By the time kids are nine months old, they have the physical development and mouth coordination necessary to be able to drink out of a sippy cup or a cup with straw. That development comes pretty early.”
On the other hand, Dr. Harvey Karp – a pediatrician, child development specialist and creator of the DVD and book, The Happiest Toddler on the Block – doesn’t think it’s such a big deal.
Sucking is normal for kids when they are tired or bored — as long as kids aren’t keeping the bottle in their mouths for hours” he tells Us, adding that it may be an emotional security device. “Thumb-sucking is more damaging.”
But Shu stands strong and says that if Suri is using the bottle out of comfort, her parents should “transition her to a different security object that doesn’t cause cavities,” such as a blanket or a stuffed animal. Or in Suri’s case, perhaps some heels?
Should Suri be weaned off the bottle by now?
