Jade Goody, who is battling cervical cancer, took her uniformed boys Bobby Jack, 5, and Freddie, 4, to school in Sussex, UK. Afterwards, she headed to the The Royal Marsden hospital with her friend, Kevin Adams.
Zoe Lucker introduces her new daughter, Lilly Alabama, in this week’s issue of the British magazine Hello! The baby was two weeks old when the photos were taken, and is a month old now. Zoe is engaged to Lilly’s father, film editor Jim Herbert, and they plan to marry next year.
Lilly was born September 2 by Caesarian because the baby was growing at such a rate that a natural birth would have been too risky.
‘The second she was born it was the most natural feeling in the world to want to love and protect her. It’s difficult to speak about these things without sounding like you are a gushing new mum, but it’s overwhelming. You know what it feels like to love your family or friends or a man, but I am amazed by my capacity to love this child. Jim spent the first night in hospital with me and we stayed awake the whole time just staring at her.’
Zoe also says she is amazed by how quickly her body adapted to being a parent,
‘Until the end of my pregnancy I couldn’t get my head around the whole breastfeeding thing, but that was completely instinctive – its amazing how brilliantly your body responds.’

Myleene Klass has a lot her plate – she’s a singer, model, musician, fashion designer, and of course, a mother to 1-year-old Ava. So how does she juggle it all?
“I used to get stressed,” she admits. “But now I’ve taken the pressure off myself and just take it one day at a time. Thankfully, it’s easy to carry Ava around at the moment so I can take her to work with me most of the time.”
Myleene does not have a nanny, and admits that it’s exhausting,
“Yes, I’m permanently tired. Yes, I have to multitask, but doesn’t every mum? I’m not the sort of person who can sit at home on the sofa. It’s not like I’m perpetually trying to be at the top of my game, but when you are being given opportunities you want to take them and enjoy them,” she says.
She also talked about how scary things were just after her daughter was born,
“When Ava was born it seemed there was lots to do, and it overwhelmed me,” she says. “There’s so much to remember and you’re so frightened – you’ve got to get it right. The pressure is immense. Then there’s the sleep deprivation! There’s almost a conspiracy between women because you don’t want to be the one who says you can’t cope. After I talked publicly about it, I had so many letters and emails thanking me.”
Here’s question – after your child was born, did you feel pressured to gloss over harder parts of being a parent? And click below to read about how her relationship with her fiance was affected and how she makes sure her family gets enough time now.
And her relationship with her fiance, Graham Quinn, who had been her bodyguard, also suffered a little,
“It was difficult in the beginning because Gray had to learn there was a new hierarchy,” she admits. “He still says now: ‘It’s Ava, then the goldfish, then me.’ There were times when you wonder: ‘Am I going mad here?’ Like everything he said was wrong. But you know we’re normal – normal as can be.”
Myleene sets aside one day a week for uninterrupted family time for Graham and Ava,
“I love it when I close the door behind me and it’s just the three of us,” she says. “No computers or phones. We barely answer the door.”
