Lola Sheen’s Fancy Footwear

Lola Sheen’s Fancy Footwear

It looks as though Lola Sheen has no problem following in her mom’s footsteps!

The adorable 4-year-old and her sister Sam, 5, played dress up yesterday while mom, Denise Richards, snapped a photo to share on Twitter with the caption: “The sisters!! Check out Lola’s shoes, she was in my closet!!”

Unfortunately it seems that the girls are a little under the weather as of this morning:

woke up at 3:30 to both kids sick..Sami has a fever and lola has an ear ache..I hate when they are sick!

We hope they’re feeling better soon!

Holly Robinson Peete: I’m “Relieved” The Travoltas Got Closure

Holly Robinson Peete: I'm "Relieved" The Travoltas Got Closure

Ten months after son Jett’s death, John Travolta and Kelly Preston admitted that their 16-year-old had autism. Holly Robinson Peete, whose 12-year-old son, Rodney Jr., also has autism, tells Life & Style that she wishes the A-list couple had spoken sooner.

Were there times I said to myself, Ooh, if somebody that A-list comes out, what could he do for the movement?” Holly says, “I don’t blame the Travoltas for not talking about it. I would never tell someone what to say about their kid.”

Holly and her husband, former NFL star Rodney Peete, founded the HollyRod Foundation, which raises money for families living with autism and similar conditions. She says it was a family decision to go public with Rod Jr.’s condition, and she hopes John and Kelly can find solace in doing the same. “The fact that posthumously he had to say that on the stand, I wasn’t glad about it,” she says. “But I was relieved he was able to have closure.”

    Mayim Bialik Talks Holistic Parenting

    Mayim Bialik Talks Holistic Parenting

Almost 15 years after the end of Blossom, most people still remember actress Mayim Bialik as the cute and quirky kid on television. Now 33 years old and mom to boys Miles, 4, and Frederick, 1, Mayim is also a UCLA graduate and a spokesperson for the Holistic Moms Network. The very hands-on mom recently chatted to the Sierra Club about her eco-conscious approach to parenting, which includes no TV, no meat and even no diapers.

On being an eco-friendly mom: “I feel a strong personal responsibility as a member of the planet to live this way. For me, it’s worth the effort, time, and research to make it work. We have a collective responsibility for the planet that I’m going to leave to my kids and their kids.”

On going diaper-free: “Cloth when we’re out. At home, we use elimination communication, which is used in many places of the world. When I first learned about it I thought it was the craziest thing I’ve ever heard. But it’s being talked about a lot more. It’s a diaper-free movement that’s based on the fact that children give signals. It’s a really profound level of communicating with your child. My second son was dry by 11 months. It’s more potty-training the adult than the kid. And it’s not for everyone, that’s for sure. You need to be with your child all the time to learn the signals. My husband was so skeptical but he became a believer very quickly.”
