Jessica Alba Preps For Honor’s 1st Birthday

Jessica Alba Preps For Honor's 1st Birthday

Jessica Alba admits she’s already feeling the stress of having to plan a party for her daughter Honor’s first birthday in June.

“The first birthday is really more for the parents,” she recently said on The Tonight Show. “I don’t know. We might do, like, Dumbo… we might have, like, music guys. I’m going to bake a cake that she can eat and put all over her face.”

Jessica, 27, may want to work on her frosting recipe before the big day. She reveals that she attempted to make a batch of organic cupcakes for Easter and while the cupcakes themselves turned out “awesome” the icing definitely did not. She ended up tossing it in favor of the canned stuff: “It was like, all this organic stuff and then canned icing.”

Though from the sounds of it Honor isn’t a very picky eater! “She’s a big girl,” Jessica says of her “very healthy” 10-month-old daughter. “She’s almost as big as me! She’s, like, 25 pounds.”

How did you celebrate your baby’s first birthday?

    Debra Messing’s Motherhood Perspective

    Debra Messing's Motherhood Perspective

Debra Messing loves being a hands-on mom to her 4-year-old son Roman – and she’s got the scars to prove it!

“When I’m on the floor with my son — Look at my knees, do you see? Majorly skinned knees,” she tells OK!. “That’s from my son’s birthday party on Saturday at the gym and I was crawling on the floor. Skinned knees and chasing after a little boy keeps everything in perspective.”

The pair do enjoy some down time, too. Debra, 40, says her favorite thing to do with Roman is just to cuddle up with a good book.

“We like to read together. We have an embarrassingly big library. I’m a book fanatic so he gets to go and pick out whatever he wants and his choice changes all the time.”

If you’re a fan of Debra’s, here’s some good news: Though her show The Starter Wife has been canceled, the Will & Grace star just signed a sitcom development deal with NBC so she’ll be back on the small screen soon!

She’s seen here earlier this week at the 8th annual Tribeca Film Festival in NYC.

Brooke Shields Reflects On Growing Older

Brooke Shields Reflects On Growing Older

Brooke Shields has lived in the spotlight for her entire life, as a model, a movie and TV star, and even an author. Now 43 years old – and mom to daughters Rowan, 5 1/2, and Grier, 3 – Brooke talks to More magazine about what it’s like to grow up, and grow older, in the public eye.

On how pregnancy changed the way she felt about her body: “It was life, and my body had this purpose so far beyond just being there to look at, or tan or shave. Suddenly I realized how good it had been to me over the years, and what it had sustained. And I was in my thirties at the time.”

On her body image today: “I’m proud of my longevity more than anything else. There’s a lot to be said for endurance. I’m trying to find the beauty in the whole picture rather than the crow’s feet. Sure, I wish I had the face I had a decade ago, but I don’t. People say, ‘I love my wrinkles.’ I don’t love my wrinkles – come on! But when you see certain women that we knew when we were younger, like Angelica Huston and Isabella Rossellini, and they’ve grown older in the public eye, what you’re responding to is their whole life imprinted on them.”

On growing older: “For years, I’ve been the youngest person on the set, and it occurred to me recently that I wasn’t 26! I’d read a script and say, ‘Oh, that’s a great character, that’s something I’d love to do.’ And they’d say, ‘Um, no, we’re thinking of you for the mother.’ And then I’d say, ‘Oh, of course! Of course! I knew that.’”
