Erykah Badu welcomed her third child on Sunday, reports

“Erykah gave birth to a baby girl at her home on February 1, 2009 at 1:30 p.m.,” her rep tells Us. “The baby’s father, Jay Electronica, and her two children were in attendance.”

The Grammy-winning singer chose to have the baby at her Brooklyn home with the help of a midwife. She went into labor on Sunday, and used her Twitter account to sound a message reading, “Morning, I’m in labor,” to her 4,500 followers. Jay also sent Twitters throughout his daughter’s birth, writing, “Labor has begun. Everybody stand back. No hospitals. No doctors. No medicine. We’re waiting for the midwife to show.” His final Twitter read, “Feb. 1 2009 my first child, my daughter born at 130 PM exactly. It’s the happiest day of my life.”

Erykah’s final message read, “I can’t believe it’s over. Home birth, no painkillers, about five hours, she was a little past due date, but I didn’t mind waiting. Breath.”

The baby girl joins big brother Seven, 11, her son with Andre 3000, and big sister Puma, 4, with rapper D.O.C.
