There may have been 100 guests in attendance at Stella McDermott’s 1st birthday bash this past weekend, but the post-party talk has focused on one person who was noticeably missing: Stella’s grandmother Candy Spelling.
Despite her rocky relationship with daughter Tori, Candy confirms that she was in fact invited to the party, and that she RSVP’d that she’d be there. She had a change of heart when she realized that the event would be filmed for Tori and her husband Dean McDermott’s reality show.
“Candy was so excited to be invited to the party, but then she found out it wasn’t to be at Tori’s home, but at a house rented by the production. So it was clear it was for Tori’s show.
“Candy agonised over whether to go or not. Candy felt like she had to say, ‘No.’ She wrote to her daughter that she wanted to do something privately with Tori and her family.”
What do you think of Candy’s decision?
Thomas Beatie, who the media has labeled as the “pregnant man,” gave birth to his second child, a healthy baby boy early this morning (June 9), 20/20 reports.
Sources state that it was a “natural childbirth” and that the boy is not yet named. Beatie’s wife, Nancy, 46, will reportedly breastfeed their son, as she did with their daughter, Susan Juliette, who was born last June.
Photos of a bearded Beatie with a pregnant belly caused quite a stir last year, leading to headlines about the world’s first “pregnant man.”
Thomas, 35, was born a woman and had his breasts surgically removed. He legally changed his gender from female to male. Beatie said that he retained his female sex organs because he intended one day to get pregnant.
Congratulations to Thomas and Nancy!
After a very difficult year, actress Jennifer Hudson has something wonderful to look forward to: A new baby!
Jennifer’s Dreamgirls co-star Anika Noni Rose is sure that she’ll make a terrific mother: “I think she’ll be fantastic,” she tells US magazine. “It’s something that she wants.”
“When people are excited and in a relationship that’s a good relationship and making something out of love -you can’t help but be good at it because it’s you,” Anika adds. “It’s your love.”
Though the 27-year-old Oscar-winner and her fiancé David Otunga have not yet publicly confirmed the baby news, details of her baby shower found their way to the press a couple of weeks ago, with a friend of the mom-to-be confirming that it was “a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family.”
It was less than a year ago that the shocking news of the murder of Jennifer’s mom, brother and nephew was making headlines. Last month she and David talked to Essence magazine about the tragedy, with David saying, “In this time when things seem so uncertain for her, there is certainty in our bond. She doesn’t have to worry about losing me. I’m always going to be right here.”
