Victoria Beckham is launching a new fashion line and sat down with Bazaar magazine to discuss all things fashion, family, and of course, shoes. Victoria addressed her high maintenance appearance / attitude amidst being the mother of three rambunctious young boys (Brooklyn, 9; Romeo, 6; and Cruz, 3) and the wife of a sports icon whose schedule prompted the family’s move to L.A. in 2007.
On always wearing heels: “Oh, c’mon, they’re not that hard to walk in. They’re not uncomfortable! You have to go to a sex shop to get this spray to polish them.” When asked if she went there personally, she replied, “Oh. No …”
On staying in LA: “We’re not going to leave L.A.,” she said despite David’s recent acceptance of a stint with Italy’s AC Milan team.
On playing soccer with her boys: Victoria said they use two palm trees out by the pool and make her play goalkeeper. “That’s what this bruise is,” Victoria said, pointing to a mark on her leg. “I’ve fallen down playing bloody soccer.”
On her career in the fashion industry: “I really had to prove myself, though. But now I feel like I am competing in an arena where I belong. I was so nervous because this has been a lifetime in the making.”

On how she stays so slim: “[I’m] very disciplined. It’s funny; I go to the gym now. I run four miles a day.” She added, before events, “I go into hair and makeup, and I turn into ‘Victoria Beckham.’ I’ll try on all my dresses, and I’ll out a handbag, and I’ll put on the shades. I instantly turn into this person, and it sort of feels like a character. And there are so many pictures of it. But it’s a true character because it’s still me.”
On if she is ever dresses casually: “I run around the house in a tracksuit sometimes!” When asked what kind of tracksuit, she replied, “A fabulous one.” She added, “If I go to the supermarket looking like shit, that affects my work. I am selling an image. Plus, I have fun with it.”
On smiling: “I have started smiling. I’ve mastered this smirk; it’s a smile that isn’t a smile.” She added, “I used to get so nervous, and when I got on the red carpet, I’d freeze up. I’ve had so many things said about me over the years, like a public bullying.” But Vicki isn’t nervous anymore. “The older you get, the more comfortable you become with yourself, and you accept what you have physically. Also, the fact that my business is doing very well” — she smiles — “makes me feel a little more confident, too.”
Heidi Klum’s take on Vicki: Klum recalls, “When Victoria, David, and the kids moved near us, my husband and I were shocked by the paparazzi! But what seemed at first to be a pain in the butt turned out to be a wonderful friendship.” The two have been hanging out with none other than Katie Holmes, Kate Beckinsale, and Eva Longoria. “Under all that glam and glitz,” Klum continued, “is a really lovely person who is genuine, funny, sexy, and such a great mother.”
On having a daughter one day: “I’m such a girl’s girl. I walk into my closet and go, ‘Crikey!’ To one day hand that down to another girl …” But she is not pregnant, “You get a little water retention; it’s not news. Me, Katie, Eva, and Kate always joke about how one of us is allegedly pregnant, but no, we’re just a little bloated today! None of us is pregnant.”
On her marriage to David Beckham: “We’ve had a lot of ups and a lot of downs. We’ve been married for nine years. I love him more now than when I first met him. Back then, there was a certain innocence. I look back and think if only I knew then what I know now. I’ve toughened up a lot.”
On the surprise birthday party David threw for her last April: “I opened a door and there was Seal, Heidi’s husband. I look up and see Heidi, Tom, Katie, and Kate Beckinsale and her husband, Len, and they all yelled, ‘Surprise!’ We have really nice friends, with nice kids.” Regarding the Cruises, Victoria said, “We’ve known Tom since I was pregnant with Cruz. He’s such an amazing person, and so is Katie. You hear all these strange things about them, but they are genuinely nice, normal people.”
On dealing with the paps: “I don’t complain about paparazzi because I’ve put myself in that position, and so has David. But I always say to the boys, someone is going to take your picture because you’re handsome or you’re smart or because you’re so good at soccer. But every now and again, Romeo might pick up one of David’s cameras and say, ‘Victoria, Victoria, over here!’ And his attitude is sort of angry.”
On doing ‘normal’ family activities: “We went for a walk around the neighborhood last night, just with the family. It was so nice. It suits us to be boring. I tell you, the paparazzi would not be sitting outside if they realized I was the most boring person in Hollywood.”

Ellen DeGeneres spoke to AOL TV about the possiblity of having kids, saying that all the commercials she sees lately makes her think about them!
“When I see those print ads that have the babies in them for Gap, maybe that’s cute that you have a little Gap knit sweater on the head, little Gap outfit,” she tells AOL TV. “They advertise kids very well, those Gap ads. I don’t even look at the clothes — I just go, ‘That’s a cute baby, I’ll take that one.’ “
Still, she said, for her and wife Portia di Rossi, kids are not coming anytime soon.
“I think that is one of the things about not being able to just accidentally get pregnant and have a child,” she explains. “You really, really have to want one, whether it’s trying to figure out how you get pregnant or if you adopt. I think that’s even more of a reason that people that aren’t able to have kids should be allowed to adopt because you have to really want a kid, and that’s a big responsibility,” she says. “So we are not taking it lightly. We would really think about it before we did it.”
“It’s very relaxed and informal. We don’t work anything out too much. It’s up to Lily a lot of the time. When she gets bored of me, she goes to Kate, and when she gets bored of Kate, she comes to me.”
He also talked about what Lily is into right now,
“She’s rehearsing Mamma Mia! in her drama class,” he says. “She’s very excited about that.”
But he doesn’t want her to follow in her parents’ footsteps and become an actress.
“I hope she’s going to be a writer,” Michael says. “She’s a very good writer.”

“It was a happy accident. But I think that certain things happen for a reason in your life, and maybe it was time to put the wild child in a cage.”
He also spoke about wife Ashlee, who he married in May of this year,
“I realized I’d found my soul mate, and it made me want to be a better person,” he says. “Now, with the baby, I want to be the best dad I can be.”
