When actress Katherine Heigl recently stumbled upon an episode of Lifetime's reality show Dance Moms, she was left "horrified" by the spectacle.
"I watched with open-mouthed amazement as girls as young as seven were encouraged to dress provocatively and shimmy around a stage doing a dance performance that could just as easily been a burlesque routine. I kept thinking all these girls were missing is a pole!" the 27 Dresses star, who is mom to 3-year-old daughter Naleigh, writes in her latest iVillage post.

Katherine Heigl, her mom Nancy, and a nanny took 3-year-old Naleigh out to lunch at Da Silvano in New York City on Thursday (January 26). As they were leaving, they carried the restaurant's little bags.
The actress has been busy promoting her new film One For The Money. During the week she even brought Naleigh with her on the Jimmy Kimmel Live and The View.

Actress Katherine Heigl had just about the entire family in tow yesterday as she arrived at LAX in Los Angeles, California with her parents Nancy and Paul Heigl and her 3-year-old daughter Naleigh (January 21). The former Grey's Anatomy star was on her way to catch a flight to New York City.
Though both of her parents have high profile careers - dad Josh Kelley is a musician - Naleigh will be raised knowing what's truly important, insists her mom.

Emmy Award-winning actress Katherine Heigl graces the cover of Scholastic Parent & Child's February issue. In the interview, the mom-of-one opens up about adopting her now 3-year-old daughter Naleigh with hubby Josh Kelley, and her new film One for the Money which opens January 27.
On adoption: “I wanted my own family to resemble the one I came from, so I always knew I wanted to adopt from Korea. We have talked about having biological children as well, but we decided to adopt first. I just wanted to be a mom. So however we do that, it’s fine with me. I’d like to adopt again.”

Grey's Anatomy alum Katherine Heigl is the latest celebrity mom to blog about the joys of motherhood. The actress - who stars in the upcoming action comedy One for the Money, in theaters January 27 - writes in her first blog for iVillage and opens up about 3-year-old daughter Naleigh and the challenges of balancing career and motherhood.
I have always known I wanted to be a mother," Katherine wrote. "When I was maybe 10 years old, I would ask the mothers at church if I could hold their babies during the service: Since so many of them had several children, they were happy to oblige me. I would skip Sunday school to go play with the kids in the nursery."

Katherine Heigl had a hard time adjusting to motherhood when she and husband Josh Kelley adopted their daughter Naleigh in 2009. The 33-year-old actress worried for weeks that her now 3-year-old daughter would not adapt well to her new home.
“The first few days we were shell-shocked and terrified of messing up,” she confesses to Britain’s Cosmopolitan magazine. “I felt a need to protect her - that's just a mother's instinct - but I was also intimidated by her, and nervous that she wouldn't love me.”

Revealing his first ever tattoo today, singer Josh Kelley says he found inspiration for the inking close to home: It's in honor of his wife Katherine Heigl and their beautiful daughter Naleigh.
Unveiling the tattoo on Twitter, Josh wrote, "Killer!!!! My wifes bday is nov 24 and naleighs on nov 23 so her 23 is in Korean and the sagittarius symbol in the middle."
