In mid October of 2011, E! News host Giuliana Rancic shocked the nation when she announced that she had been diagnosed with early stage stage breast cancer. After undergoing a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery in December, Guiliana is fighting to recover. Although the 37-year-old reality star may be slowing things down, she reveals that she and entrepreneur hubby Bill Rancic can't wait to start trying for a baby again.
"There is really no plan yet," Guiliana tells HollywoodLife.com. “The main thing is recover and the doctors see how long it takes you. The last thing you want to do is get pregnant right now. You’re really in no shape to do that.”

When E! News host Giuliana Rancic appeared on The Today Show Monday morning (October 17), fans of the reality star expected to hear that she and husband Bill Rancic were finally expecting the baby they've been trying to conceive for years now. But Rancic shocked the world when she instead announced that she has "early stage breast cancer;" a discovery her doctors made in August as she was prepping for her third attempt at IVF.
With no history of the disease in her family, Giuliana admits that she "wasn't prepared to get a mammogram until I was 40 years old," adding "I never in my wildest dreams expected anything to be wrong." But upon her doctor's insistence (pregnancy hormones could "accelerate the cancer"), Rancic, 37, had the mammogram, not at all anticipating the phone call that she received from the hospital days later.

After taking a year off of fertility treatments to focus on their relationship, reality stars Bill and Giuliana Rancic are more determined than ever to become parents. Now in the middle of their third attempt at IVF, the couple remains hopeful that they'll have the family they've always dreamed of -- by any means necessary.
"We're not opposed to adoption, but at this point we're going down the IVF path," Bill, 40, tells Us Weekly.

"We're looking at all of our options when it comes to children, whether it's surrogacy or adoption," Bill said in an interview with Us Weekly. Giuliana then added, "We're going to keep trying ourselves, but if it doesn't work out, there are so many other great alternatives. We're open to everything."

Giuliana Rancic Rushed To The ER After An IVF Procedure

Viewers of Giuliana and Bill on the Style network have been riveted by the tale of the couples' struggle with infertility. On last night's episode, Giuliana Rancic was shown being rushed to the emergency room after an IVF procedure gone wrong.
Bill tells US he "had never seen her in that much pain" and describes Giuliana as suffering through "blood curdling screams, just plain agony." Giuliana was rushed to a local hospital in Chicago where she was diagnosed with internal bleeding.
