Bruce Willis Taught His Daughters To Stand Up To Bullies

Tough guy Bruce Willis, who is father to three daughters – Rumer, 22, Scout, 19, and Tallulah, 16 – with ex-wife Demi Moore, says he taught his girls to stand up for themselves at a very young age so that they’d never fall prey to high school bullies.

“I taught them a little thing when they were young and they can actually protect themselves now,” explained the 55-year-old Die Hard star on Britain’s Daybreak TV show. “Walk up to any guy who is shoving (you) around in the playground and scream in their face, ‘It’s not ok to be mean’. It works too. It’s not ok to be mean.”

Bruce Willis Turned To Will Smith For Advice After Divorce

Actor Bruce Willis is one celebrity parent that appears to get along famously with their ex. In Willis' case, his ex-wife is Demi Moore, whom he was married to for nearly 13 years and welcomed three daughters, Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah, now teenagers.

In a new interview, Willis touched on his feelings after his split with Moore, saying that there was "no point to living with regret or antagonism or having any pent-up anger." He added that he turned to pal Will Smith for advice,

He kind of explained to me how I had to make an effort to be good friends with Demi for the sake of our girls and how they would have a much happier life and feel so much better if Mom and Dad could stay friends. That was a great decision in my life and to tell you the truth it worked out really well."

Willis married Emma Hemming over a year ago and says that he is now the, "happiest I've ever been."

Bruce Willis Would “Step In Front Of A Car” For His Daughters

Tough guy Bruce Willis and ex-wife Demi Moore have been divorced since 2000, but to this day they can agree on at least one thing – their children come first.

“You can’t spend a decade with someone and raise kids with her and come away unfeeling,” he explains to Men’s Journal. “I just put my head down and said, ‘The kids come first. And we’ll do whatever it takes and maybe even laugh about it’”

“Once you start putting the kids first, it isn’t uncomfortable,” he adds. “Bravery is stupid a lot of times, but there’s nothing stupid about this particular subject.”

The 55-year-old Die Hard star who is father to Rumer, 21, Scout, 18, and Tallulah, 15, has never been shy about expressing his devotion to his daughters:

I would step in front of a car for them… I’ve peeled every layer off and come to the bright core: it’s just a light… it’s when you can put someone else’s welfare ahead of yours. I can look at how I interact with my kids and say, ‘This is love. I know what it is. I got it.’
