Amanda Peet: Still "Learning On The Job" As A Mom

Amanda Peet says her real life is similar to her role in NBC's new romantic comedy Bent. The actress - who raises Frances Pen (a.k.a. Frankie), 4 1/2, and Molly June, 1 1/2, with screenwriter husband David Benioff - tells Breezy Mama what her character is about.

She explains, "I’m a mom, I’m trying to run a household. I do have a very supportive husband, so that’s a major difference. It is very hard to try and do everything well. My theory is strive for mediocrity."

Amanda Peet: I'm "Committed To Reducing Measles Deaths Globally"

Something's Gotta Give star Amanda Peet is one of our favorite celeb moms! The actress joined the American Red Cross on Monday to thank a group of students in New York for helping to vaccinate two villages against measles. Amanda - mom to daughters Frankie, 4, Molly, 1 - has long been outspoken on the topic of childhood vaccinations.

The champion for childhood immunizations tells Celebrity Baby Scoop "every day, 450 children in this world die from measles - a disease that is entirely preventable with a vaccine." Amanda goes on to talk about the Measles Initiative and how she's "committed to reducing measles deaths globally."

Postpartum depression is a form of clinical depression which can affect up to 25% of women, and less frequently men, after childbirth. Some of our favorite Hollywood moms are breaking the silence on the once taboo topic and shattering myths and the stigma around PPD. Read on about how stars such as Academy Award-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow felt like a "robot" at her lowest point, how Brooke Shields "couldn't smile" at her newborn daughter and how Bryce Dallas Howard "didn't expect" to go through PPD being a "total optimist" in her everyday life.

Amanda Peet's Baby Dilemma - How Old Is Too Old?

Jun 12, 2010 by JENNY SCHAFER
Amanda Peet's Baby Dilemma - How Old Is Too Old?

At a recent launch party for DumbDumb, Amanda Peet shared her thoughts on having another child with Us. The 38-year-old actress has a 3-year-old daughter, Frances, and gave birth to her second child, Molly, in April. She is now keen to try for one more, but her screenwriter husband, David Benioff, would like to wait three years. However, Amanda says "We'll be too old at that point."

It would seem that Peet - who has appeared in movies such as Something's Gotta Give and The Whole Ten Yards - is aware that her biological clock is ticking and must consider the risks of conceiving past the age of 40.

There are many precedents for celebrities becoming moms at an older age - Kelly Preston is pregnant at 47 and Céline Dion is expecting twins at 42. However, Halle Berry - who gave birth to daughter Nahla in 2008 at age 40 - warns "don't look at celebrities who are doing it and think, Oh, it's easy. It's really not."

Dr Alan B. Copperman of Mount Sinai Medical Center points out some of the problems. "At 40 there is only a 10 percent chance of conception and at 45, it's just 2 percent." Add to that the often needed fertility treatments, preterm labor, dangerously high blood pressure and diabetes, and you can understand Ms. Peet's concerns.

Amanda Peet Debuts Daughter Molly June!

It's our first glimpse of Molly June!

Amanda Peet
along with her husband David Benioff were spotted with their two daughters - Frankie, 3, and Molly, 5 weeks - strolling in downtown Manhattan on Sunday (May 23). The family-of-four did some quick shopping before heading back to their New York City apartment.

Amanda recently said that Frankie is adjusting well to big sisterhood.

It's been good, she's a little more moody than usual but it's not directed at the baby. It's more like, 'Frankie eat your broccoli,' and she starts screaming. She wants to have a baby in her belly and she wants to breastfeed."

Amanda Peet Gushes Over Her Girls

Amanda Peet Gushes Over Her Girls

Actress Amanda Peet had a very good excuse for bailing on last month's scheduled visit to the Late Show with David Letterman - she was in labor!

The mom-of-two made up for her last minute absence by appearing on the talk show earlier this week, though she clearly had babies on the brain.

Struggling to recall the plot of her new film Please Give,, Amanda said, "I have a foggy brain right now... Oh my gosh. I have no business being here!"

She had plenty to say when talk turned to her girls, though. Revealing that her 3-year-old daughter Frances Pen is still adjusting to being a big sister to little Molly June, she explained, 'It's been good, she's a little more moody than usual but it's not directed at the baby. It's more like, 'Frankie eat your broccoli,' and she starts screaming. She wants to have a baby in her belly and she wants to breastfeed."
